Workshops

I am really excited to offer both indoor and outdoor art-science workshops!

These focus on using watercolour freely to enable us to look deeper at landscape and natural specimens, with a focus on the geological. I want to help empower people to feel confident and ready to paint outdoors.

Workshops are typically 1 – 4 hours long and can be flexible depending on venue and group.

For outdoor workshops I am a fully insured and qualified Mountain Leader.

For rates and to discuss, please email phoebe@sleath.co.uk

Here’s what workshop participants have to say:

Participant at Greyhope Bay Rocks & Ripples

“It was such a lovely vibe and Phoebe was a great and engaging teacher. I think the evening worked perfectly – having materials to use and getting a wee hot beverage after the beach walk was perfect. “

Participant at the Painting the Mountains Workshop 2025

“Phoebe is an excellent guide to both geology and art – encouraging us to focus on the rock formations etc really helped avoid feeling overwhelmed when painting the landscape.”

“I came away feeling really inspired and ready to go ahead and use the tips and techniques we learned for painting in the outdoors. Most of all I find it quite freeing to stop worrying about how painting would turn out and just enjoy the process!”

“Phoebe was great, answered all my questions and very supportive through the process.”

Rosa, Granite Girls workshop

“The first of many (I hope) geology and art workshops and it was magic. I had such a lovely day, thank you all and thank you Phoebe! It was such a challenge initially – rocks and stone usually become background in my observational drawing so to learn to see and understand their curves and cracks and how they hold history was amazing.”

Kirsty, Granite Girls workshop

“Thanks again Phoebe! A lovely wholesome morning with Granite girls and Phoebe at her geology and art workshop. I’m heading down to the beach later for a dip and might just take my paints with me :D”
